Funeral for Dorothy Redix will be held Saturday October 5th, 11 am, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seguin. Interment will follow at Ridley Cemetery in Jake's Colony. A visitation will be held Friday October 4th, from 4 to 7 pm at Wesley Harper United Methodist Church in Seguin. Dorothy is survived by one brother, Daniel Clay and six children; Earl Redix III, Patricia Redix, Linda Redix, Vance Redix, Dwayne Redix & Anita Redix.
Genoveva Morales Puente passed away Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 at the age of 65. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 13th, 10AM from Eunice & Lee Mortuary Chapel. She is survived by 5 children, Jose Sandoval, Louis Puente, Genoveva Puente, Clarissa Sandoval & Felix Sandoval.
Santos Benavidez Lozano died August 22, 2024 at the age of 69. Visitation and ceremony will be held from 9am to 2pm at Eunice and Lee Mortuary Chapel Saturday August 24, 2024 with interment at Marion Cemetery. He is survived by brothers, Jenaro and San Luis Benavidez; sisters, Norma Rodriguez, Lydia Bustos, Marialena Garcia, Maricela Delgado, Rosa Benavidez, Yolanda Rangel, Maria De La Lux Ramirez and Nenita Benavidez.
Leticia Benavidez Lozano died Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 59. Visitation and ceremony will be held from 9am to 2pm at Eunice and Lee Mortuary Chapel Saturday August 24, 2024 with interment at Marion Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Deborah Jeanette Benavidez, Jeffrey Johnson,Jr., Julio Javier Benavidez, Joshua Benavidez, Cassandra Lee Johnson, Jennifer Stephanie Johnson, and Ashley Marie Johnson; husband, Jeffrey Johnson; Dad, Miguel Benavidez, Mother, Carolina Benavidez; Grandchildren, Brianna Esthela Gonzalez and Emily Kaitlyn Gonzalez; brothers, Jenaro Benavidez, Santiago Benavidez, and Jose Luis Benavidez; sisters, Norma Rodriguez, Lydia Bustos, Maria Lena Garcia, Margiela Delgado, Rosa Benavidez, Yolanda Rangel, Maria De La Luz Ramirez, and Nentra Benavidez. Son-in-laws, Abraham Gonzalez and Donterius Moore.
Charles "Dollie" Adams passed August 10, 2024 at the age of 72. He retired from the Fire Department having served for over 28 years. Services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Saturday August 17th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 206 N. Travis Street in Seguin. A visitation will precede the service at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Marion Cemetery, 555 Wetz Rd in Marion, TX. Charles is survived by his wife; Pastor Vivian Turner Adams; son, Charles Adams Jr.; brother, Wynn "Peaches" Adams; sister, Gloria Jean Coleman and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Esther Rodriguez Souvenir passed on July 18, 2024 at the age of 40. Services will be held Friday, August 2nd, 11am at Huebner Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7420 Huebner Road in San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at 2:15pm in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Esther is survived by her husband, Hugh Souvenir II; mother, Felicitas Delgadillo; sisters, Felicitas Vasquez (David) & Zoey Delgadillo; and brother, Johnathan Ray Rodriguez (Sandra).
Clarence Augustus Ussery III (Big Boy) answered Jesus Christ's call on July 21st, 2024 in Seguin, TX. Clarence was born in Guadalupe County September 18, 1961, the fourth child to Clarence Ussery Jr. and Geraldine Ussery. Clarence attended Seguin High School and was baptized at a young age. Clarence served active duty in the US Army and was preceded in death by both parents; Clarence and Geraldine Ussery Jr., siblings, Brother Ezekiel Ussery and Sister Sherry Ussery, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Clarence had one son, Ulysses Ussery; two grandchildren, Brylee and Braydon; nine siblings, five brothers Melvin, Edward, Richard, Charles and Billy Ussery; three sisters, Diane Butler and Mary Ussery; and 15 nieces and nephews, all of Seguin; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services for James Gregory Garcia will be held Saturday, July 6th, 10 am at Sweet Home Cemetery. James passed away June 30th at the age of 63. He is survived by his brothers; Charles Stanley Garcia & Tracy Garcia and sisters; Hattie Garcia Taylor, Ida Garcia Williams and Malbe Garcia Dillard.
Funeral services for Willie Dan Branch will be held Tuesday, April 30, 10 am at Refuge III Church in Seguin; interment will follow at ILKE Cemetery in Kingsbury, TX. Mr. Branch will lie in state at Eunice & Lee Mortuary chapel from 5 to 7 pm Monday, April 29. Willie passed away at the age of 64 and leaves to cherish his memory, siblings; Helen M. Branch, Gloria Mills, J.C. Branch, Chester Branch and Tillie Branch Luke.
Funeral services for Willie Floyd Brooks will be held Saturday, March 23, 11 am at Refuge Church III in Seguin. Mr. Brooks will lie in state at Refuge III from 10 to 11 am preceding the service. Visitation services will be Friday, March 22, 5 to 7 pm at Eunice & Lee Mortuary Chapel. Willie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda Jean Brooks; children, Courtney, Ambrose and Rhonda Brooks; and siblings, Maxine Baines, Barbara (Oscar) Brooks and Joseph Brooks.
Jesse Arriaga, age 76, passed away February 14, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, March 19, 1947, to Andrew & Enriqueta Arriaga. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
Mr. Arriaga was married for 57 years to his loving wife, Christina Arriaga. He honorably served in the United States Army as a Medic and Medical Supply Specialist and retired from the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk.
He cherished the life he had with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was someone that wanted and tried to be there for everyone in any way possible. He was a strong but giving man, who impacted many lives. He was very much a great mentor and inspiration to his family and friends.
Mr. Arriaga was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Arriaga; his parents, Andrew & Enriqueta Arriaga; and brothers, Andres Arriaga, Jr. and Frank Arriaga.
Mr. Arriaga is survived by his loving wife, Christina Arriaga; daughter, Laurie Arriaga;
grandchildren, Jonathan Fox, Arjeta, Kristin, Ernest “EJ”, and Chelby; great grandchildren, Leia, Violet, and Rowan; son, Jesse Arriaga, Jr. & family; his siblings and their families, Aurora Purser, Alice Rivera, Theresa Arriaga, and Edward Arriaga; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
Reverend Ronnie Shepherd passed at the age of 72. Funeral services for Reverend Shepherd will be held 11 AM, March 2nd at Greater Savannah Baptist Church in Marion, Texas; a viewal will precede from 9 to 11 AM; interment will follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park in San Antonio. He is survived by his sisters; Marie Weekly, Annie Anderson and Sandra (Bobby) Bates.
Funeral services for Virginia Grant will be held Saturday, February 24th, 11 am at Christian Fellowship Church on Eight Street in Seguin; interment will follow in Randolph Cemetery, New Salem Community. Visitation will be Friday, February 23rd, 5 to 7pm at Eunice & Lee Mortuary Chapel. Virginia passed February 9th at the age of 48. She is survived by children; Andre & LaToya Grant and siblings; Jesse Mae Wilson & Terrell Grant.
Elder Dixon passed January 19th at the age of 90. Funeral and interment services for Elder were held graveside, Friday, February 9th, 2 PM at Dixon Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. He is survived by his Godson/nephew, Robert Murry Sr.; son-in-law, Willie David; and grandchildren; Conquista Bush, Marchele (Darryl) Jones, Jonathan David & Justin David.
Funeral services for Terrill Lewis, Jr. will be held Saturday, February 3rd, 11 am at Greater Second Baptist Church in Seguin with interment in Capote Cemetery. Mr. Lewis passed January 19th at the age of 31. He is survived by his father, Terrill Lewis, Sr.
Funeral services for Shirley Jackson Henderson will be held Friday, 11 am at Greater Refuge Church of our Lord in Seguin. She passed on January 16th at the age of 76. Interment will be Monday, January 29th, 9am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. She is survived by her twin sister, Beverly Brown.
Helen Miller Jackson passed on January 11th at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Jackson and one sister, Patricia Cummins. Services of memory will be held Saturday, January 20th, 2pm at Calvary Baptist Church in San Antonio. Interment will follow at Randolph Cemetery.
Walter E. Miller passed away January 6th at the age of 39. Services for Mr. Miller will be held Saturday, January 20th, 11 am at Wesley Harper United Methodist Church in Seguin. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Bennie Gay Miller; brother, Aaron Mike Wright; and sisters, Helen Miller, Yvette Miller and Barbara Miller.
Rosary was held Sunday January 7, 2024 at Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church in Marion for Patrick Kiolbassa. Mass was conducted Monday January 8, 11:30 am at Immaculate Concepcion; interment at Marion Cemetery delayed due to inclement weather.
